Crazy Cat Lady Bloggers of Australia

Janet Camilleri · 04/04/2016 ·

If you’re a regular visitor here, you already know I’m a bit of a crazy cat lady.

Me holding Fleur

Currently I have one fur baby, a ginger female called Miss Fleur. I often share pics of her on social media, and she inspires the occasional blog post too – including “My Kitty is Really a Dog in Disguise“, “5 Ways to Spoil your Indoor Cat“, “Morning Tea with Miss Fleur“, and “Why My Kitty is Sad“. She even wrote a post of her own – “The Kitty Speaks” – when I was travelling overseas last year!

cuteness

(And yes, I must confess that lately we have been thinking about giving her a little brother or sister … )

One of the wonderful things about being a part of the Aussie blogosphere, is that I have discovered that there are a number of other Aussie bloggers, with a love for all things cat.

adventure cat

So I decided it was time for the crazy cat lady bloggers of Australia to unite! Most of these blogs are not focused solely on kitties, but you will still catch plenty of glimpses of their love of cats – in particular their own fur babies πŸ˜‰ .

Crazy Cat Lady Bloggers of Australia

  1. Living My Imperfect Life – Sanch in Sydney has two indoor kitties, the adorable Pebbles and Buttons.
  2. Agent Mystery Case – Nobody was more surprised than Raychael, when she turned into one of “those” people sharing cute cat pics on Instagram – ever since Pepsi adopted her family πŸ˜‰ .
  3. My MeowΒ  – Ashleigh is the proud mama of Sasha cat, a pretty white cat who is so clever she sometimes takes over her blog – and now a little ginger miss called Piper! I love the the tagline on her blog: Life. Love. Travel. Sometimes Cats.
  4. Pawesome CatsΒ  – I’ve only recently stumbled upon this cat-centric lifestyle blog by Tracy, who currently has five kitties: Charlie, Max, Ava, Amber and Coco. (Because the only thing better than having one cat, is having LOTS of cats!). As Tracy says, “Anyone who says they don’t like cats just hasn’t met the right one yet”.
  5. Pet Problem Solved – Dr Jo is a vet, blogging about pets and their people, and mama to quite a menagerie with 1 cat, 3 recently rescued kittens, a dog, chickens …
  6. Finding Joy in the Everyday – Jo has two cats, Ruby and Charlie, that make occasional appearances on her blog.
  7. Bargain Baglady – Sammy lives on the Gold Coast, and describes herself as being a” twenty-something Vegemite loving, coffee drinking, thrifting obsessed, cat lover”.
  8. Finding Myself Young – Toni discovered the joy that cats can bring, when she was first experiencing the heartache of infertility. Luckily her daughter seems to love the cats as much as she does – as rumour has it she now has 4 kitties!
  9. Libby’s Lifestyle – When I first “met” her online, the cat in Libby’s life was the handsome ginger, Ralph. Sadly, Ralph has now crossed the rainbow bridge but Libby now has a new kitty companion, Kennie Kitten.
  10. Minted Rogue – Tori, the woman behind the blog, has three babies: one human, and two fur. You can catch a glimpse of all of them on her Instagram feed!
  11. Life at My Level – Leisa’s cat Gypsy likes curling on up the quilt Leisa is slowly making, and like my own Miss Fleur, enjoys watching television πŸ™‚ .
  12. My Little Drummer Boys – Trish hosts a linky called Wordless Wednesday which I try to join when I can. She has 4 cats, and also feeds a stray which repays her by hissing at her!
  13. Saltbush Avenue – Tasmanian blogger Steph has a lucky black cat, named Mishka Catface.
  14. Kristie from Pretty Paper Things not only has two cats, Ruby and Lai, but she also fosters kittens too!
  15. Introducing Leanne from Cresting the Hill – another blogger who is enjoying midlife, and loves kitties!
  16. Snoskred has two kitties, Happy and Grumpy, who enjoy supervising the chooks. And the whole household. As kitties do.
  17. Prue is the “hired help” for two 8 year old females, Pussa and Soph. These clever kitties even have their own business, while Prue blogs on all things kitty, at Cat Habitat.
  18. Okay, how did I not know this before?! The famous Mrs Woog, of Woogsworld, loves cats. She has two, and she has lots of pics of kitties on her Pinterest boards. Must go stalk her now.
  19. One of my “Facebook twins“, Beck from Crafty PJ Mum!
  20. Rachel from Crazy Cat Lady VA – gotta love her business name πŸ˜‰ .

I love this! I love Miss Fleur {and all the kitties!}. Mr Imperfect wants to get another cat and a ginger one this time. I’ve put my foot down as two is enough in a two bedroom unit.

Love the list you’ve shared. I must admit, through blogging and IGing, I’m amazed how many bloggers are cat lovers. Amy from Handbagmafia is also a cat lady.

      04/04/2016 at 10:37 pm

Yes, two probably is enough in a unit. I get the final say on whether we adopt again – after all, I am the one that cleans the kitty litter πŸ˜‰ … and I didn’t realise about Handbag Mafia, thanks for the tip!

Bahahah can’t believe there are so many crazy cat bloggers out there. I must admit I am a dog person.

      04/04/2016 at 10:37 pm

It’s okay Natalie, we can still be friends πŸ˜‰

  3. Raych aka Mystery Case says

    04/04/2016 at 9:55 am

This is too funny. Probably the last list I would have thought I would make.

      I thought you’d be amused!

  4. Deborah says

Oh… this is adorable Janet. I’ve been pondering moving and getting a house and I’ve ‘wondered’ if I could possibly get a cat if I did so.

However.. I hate the kitty litter thing (I know… selfish of me!) and I’m worried I’d get too attached and become pathetic! The lack of kids and grandkids in my life could really make me a crazy cat lady!

    • Janet Camilleri says

      04/04/2016 at 10:38 pm

The kitty litter thing really doesn’t bother me anymore. I’ve learned to block my nose and stop smelling while doing the chore, without actually having to hold my nose. Shaking the litter about to scoop out the nuggets is like panning for gold LOL …

  5. Trish says

    04/04/2016 at 3:25 pm

How did I not make the list – 4 cats and a stray (or feral) who eats our food and hisses at me.

    • Janet Camilleri says

      04/04/2016 at 10:38 pm

Trish I had no idea! Do you blog about them much?

  6. Sammy says

    04/04/2016 at 4:00 pm

Hey Janet! Thanks for the honour hun! ?? Be prepared for more cats on my social media in the future πŸ˜‰ hehe
    – Sammy! XX

      04/04/2016 at 10:39 pm

I’ve already discovered a couple more here in the comments, safe to say I think crazy cat lady bloggers are the best!

  8. Kirsty @ My Home Truths says

    04/04/2016 at 8:55 pm

I will never make a cat list (we’re not cat people) but I’m hoping to make a dog or a pug list one day!

    • Janet Camilleri says

      04/04/2016 at 10:39 pm

If I ever do a dog (or pug) list, you would be right at the top Kirsty x

Great idea. I’m so happy I made your list. Ralphie’s so impressed he hasn’t even moved from his post-breakfast nap on my lap. Now, I’m off to read through the other crazy cat bloggers’ insights into life, the universe and everything. Oh, and after I’m allowed to get out of bed after the post-breakfast nap, I’ll definitely be adding the badge to my sidebar.

  13. Leanne says

    01/07/2016 at 3:21 pm

Just found your blog – I’m always on the look out for fellow Aussie bloggers – and seeing a cat lover clinched the deal! I’ve just finished “Lessons from my Cats” as my June blog series on my blog http://www.crestingthehill.com.au . I’ll be back to visit again – I’ve met up with Sanch via #FridayReflections and now I’m off to check out some of the others x

that’s so cool – thanks Janet! How do I get your badge to put on my blog? Do I just take the image or do you have code for it?

  14. Prue Lawson says

    01/09/2016 at 6:38 pm

Finally…I list of fellow cat bloggers, and even better…Aussie ones!

I’m the hired help for two 8 year old girls – Pussa & Soph – who we adopted and have subsequently ingratiated themselves completely into the household. I blog on all things cat and am trying to improve my cat photography skills. If only they would pose when you wanted them too!

    • Janet Camilleri says

      02/09/2016 at 11:21 am

Welcome Prue! Always good to meet a fellow crazy cat lady. I’ve just checked out your website and blog – love it! – and have added you to the official roll call on this post. Email me at [email protected] if you would like the official crazy cat lady badge for your website!

We adore cats, especially ginger cats. Miss Fleur is lovely. And the first of these cat blogs I’m going to check out is Ralph’s, er … I mean … Libby’s. I’m not Aussie, but my darling ginger boy’s name, nickname actually, is Sweet Potato.

      17/12/2017 at 2:03 pm

Lovely to hear from you Jean! Sadly, Ralph passed away earlier this year πŸ™ . But Miss Fleur sends her love to Sweet Potato x
